A Season Of Waiting

A Season Of Waiting

by Tianna Miulli

Throughout our lives we wait a lot. As a kid we wait for a new toy, as a teen we wait for our driver's license, and as an adult we wait for the day we get married. Waiting for something can sometimes cause you to stress out because the longer you wait the more anxious you get.

Personally, there are many things that I have had to wait for. For example, after high school I didn't know where God wanted me to go for college. I spent a lot of time asking myself "What's God's plan for my life?" At the same time my family was moving out of my house and into my grandparent's house. During this time, I learned a lot about prayer and seeking God's guidance. Looking back, I knew that God put my family and I in this season for a reason. He taught me that He has everything under control and that we need to just "be still" because He's got us.

Psalm 46:10 says, "Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth." This has been a verse that I have clung to in high school and throughout my college experience. Waiting is something that is hard for me, and just about everyone else, because no one likes to wait for something they want.

One thing that I have been waiting for God to send my way is a Godly man to spend the rest of my life with. As a girl, this is something that I thought about all of the time and I wonder when it's going to come. There have been many times where I've asked God "Where is this man?" and "Why is it taking so long?" Throughout this season of waiting, I have had to learn that God knows exactly what we need and that He might not give us the thing we want because we're not ready for it. This might not be something someone wants to hear when they're waiting. But it's important to recognize the areas that we still might need to grow in before God gives us those things. Cling to prayer when it comes to anything and remember God sees and hears you!
